1. Obstetric trauma during childbirth, such as prolonged labor or the use of forceps or vacuum extraction
2. Inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
3. Previous pelvic surgery, such as hysterectomy or colorectal surgery
4. Radiation therapy for pelvic cancers
5. Chronic constipation or straining during bowel movements
6. Trauma to the pelvic area, such as from a fall or injury
