What is matter?

Gases have particles that are widely dispersed and have no fixed shape or volume. There are also other states of matter, such as plasma (an ionized gas) and Bose-Einstein condensates (ultra-cold gases near absolute zero). These states exhibit unique properties and behavior. Matter is incredibly diverse and encompasses everything we can see, touch, and interact with in the physical world. It includes everything from the tiniest subatomic particles to massive celestial bodies like stars and planets. The study of matter and its properties falls under the domain of physics and chemistry, two fundamental branches of science.
