What was the life of Elizabeth in the Bible?

Elizabeth was a woman mentioned in the Bible who was the wife of Zechariah, a priest. She was described as righteous and devout, and she and her husband were both advanced in age and childless. Despite this, Elizabeth miraculously conceived a son in her old age, who would later become known as John the Baptist.
