Who colonized Easter Island ?

Easter Island was colonized by Polynesians around the 13th century. They are believed to have come from the Marquesas Islands or the Society Islands. The island was later visited by European explorers, including Dutch navigator Jacob Roggeveen in 1722, who named it Easter Island.
